Are you pondering what I am pondering?

Sew Mama Sew posted a list of question and asked bloggers to answer all or a few. Below are my answers to three of the questions.

What was your very favorite fabric collection or print? (If not listed above.)

My best pick for fabric is Fresh Squeezed Fabrics which you will find on the blog i have to say. The colors and prints are beautiful and the price is very good too. Fresh Squeezed makes me think of little girls clothes, spring purses, table cloths, and curtains. Sew Mama Sew’s fabrics are another favorite. They have a whimsy and winter look to them. They make me think of quilts and cute children’s jackets.

What is one of the best things you saw that was made by someone else?
I am hard pressed to pick here because so many of the bloggers are making beautiful things. But one stands out a bit more than the others. That is The Sew Convert. Adey is fast and precise in her sewing. She uses great colors and flattering patterns. Everything she sews turns out beautiful. She is also clear and direct at explaining what she does. She should work for a fashion magazine.

My favorite is the jacket Adey made called The Lady Grey. The style and color are beautiful. The sewing is perfect and she explained what she did so the back wouldn’t pucker. What a great thing to pass on.

What’s on your sewing agenda for 2011? What are you excited about? What would you like to learn more about?
Well I am excited to have a working sewing machine for the coming year. My machine had not been working properly so I got a couple books from the library to see if I could fix it. Much to my joy I was able to fix it and now I can sew again. Twenty plus years ago I would try anything and looking back at pictures I see I did pretty good. After years of just mending, I am ready to jump back in but I feel as if I am learning all over again.

So “What is on my agenda for the coming year?” I have a list of 10 items so far. I also have a large basket of unfinished projects. My agenda is to complete the projects and make the 10 items. Skirts, a dress, and PJ’s are on that list.

Another thing I am excited to make is a purse I found in the book One Yard Wonders. You can find it on Sew Mama Sew. I’ve made a lot of bags but this will be my first purse. I borrowed the book from the local library but I hope to purchase it in the future. There are a lot of great things to make and the book comes with the patterns. The purse is all rectangles and squares so I was able to just jot down the sizes as I was not allowed to cut the patterns. There are patterns for toys, aprons, fabric boxes and much more. So what’s on your agenda for the coming year?
