Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!

I couldn’t find a wedding photo to post but, here we are just 5 years into our marriage with our oldest son Jason. (He is about 1 year old here.)  We look so young!  It shows one of the few times my husband cut his hair.  From the early 70′s to just 10 years ago he had long hair, very long down to the middle of his back, he cut it twice during that time for job interviews and then grew it back long right away.  We have come over a lot of smooth and rough roads since this picture and we are so happy to still be together and in love.

Now for Bible College:  In eight weeks I will have completed my two years of Bible College.  I have learned so much and enjoyed my Tuesdays and Thursdays, plus the hours spent studying for test, papers and assignments that actually put into practice what we have learned.  It has been a wonderful experience.  But it isn’t over yet.  I still have seven weeks of class and one week of Easter break.

I have four books to read this quarter.  I usually post the book titles but think I missed doing that last quarter, so I’ll post all of them.

Last quarter’s books were:  The Incomparable Christ by J. Oswald Sanders, for Christology class.  You can find it by clicking the red Christianbook button in the left column of this blog page.  Our other book was Handbook of Preaching by Dr. Nathaniel M. Van Cleave, for  Homelitics class.  Our other classes, Leadership and Ethics/Christianity in the Workplace. had recommended books but I didn’t purchase them.

This quarter we have Unlocking The Abraham Promise by Dr. Berin Gilfillan who is also our teacher.  He is in South Africa right now so we have our first three classes by video but it looks to be an interesting class on Evangelism.

The other three classes are King in the Kingdom, Real Christianity, and Christian Counseling.  The books, which can all be found at the Christianbook button, are Destined For The Throne, by Paul Billheimer, Celebrations of Discipline, by Richard J. Foster, and The Christian Counselor’s Manuel, by Jay E. Adams.

I know this quarter is going to be a lot of work but I am excited about what we are learning and excited to be in the last quarter before graduation.  I may not be back till Graduation because after just the first week of classes I have a lot of reading and assignments but I will for sure be back with pictures of Graduation.

So if I am not back for a while have a blessed Easter. It is my favorite holiday.  I love remembering what was done for us.  And, enjoy your Spring.  Blessings to you all.

This is where I wish I was this morning.  My life is kind of busy and sometimes I just wish I had time to stick my head under the pillow and laze around.  Well no matter if you are relaxing or running like a chicken with your head cut off I hope you day is blessed.

Other than that I haven’t much to say.  Unusual for me.  So I’ll leave with this full view of the background picture and a scripture.  Funny how you can’t see the guard rail in the background but you can see it in the full view of the picture.

For example I worked in the yard today and it took me 5 hours to finish my task.

When I was done I had a full green container and 8 trash bags of leaves and tree branch clippings and I was SORE.  Ha Ha you probably expected me to say I was a happy camper and truly I was.  I am glad to be done with the task, thankful to have spent the day out in the warm CA sunshine especially after the cold snap we had recently, but I can hardly walk or type now.

My feet, legs, hands, forearms, shoulders, and neck hurt to move.  My back feels tight and I was walking bent over walking around Cost Co. getting the few things I needed.  While I was at my pharmacy to get a prescription filled it took almost an hour of standing on my aching feet because there were so many people there with the flu.  They were all coughing and sneezing and wearing face mask the doctor gave them so as not to spread germs.  I refuse to get the flu.

But back to my aching body.  I used to do things like rake leaves, trim trees, mow the lawn and what have you, then do a full weeks laundry, clean my house and chase two small boys.  I used to do full days of hard manual labor all the time but not these days.  I will be sore tomorrow and for a few days to come.  But still I am glad I got out there.  I plan to keep getting out there till I pass to the other side.  I am going to move and do and ache doing it.   I am going to use the gifts that God has given me and movement is one, and a house and yard to care for are another, till I die.

I have the grands coming today so I have to go.  First though, I wanted to say read Psalm 22.  Oh what an amazing Psalm.  Blessings everyone.

Back in the 60′s and 70′s, when I was  a young girl I really enjoyed the two weeks off of school.  First Christmas and then the anticipation and fun of New Year’s Eve.  Mom bought fun junk foods that we ate while waiting for the New Year to roll in back in the 1900′s.

I am sure I thought the year 2000 was so far away I’d never see it.  Now it is almost 2013 and I am surprised that I am living in the future that seemed so far away.  Twenty Thirteen.  Amazing.  I probably thought we’d be living like the Jetsons or like the people in Logan’s Run.  The smog was so bad back then that living underground or in enclosed communities seemed like the answer to the problem.  I am so thankful for the cleaner air we enjoy these days in California.

I am thankful for many things and I am looking forward to the year 2013.  I know that God is watching over me and has me in His care.  I hope you know the same.  I also pray that your life will be blessed and a blessing to others.  HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Psalm 91

Five Minute Friday

God, your greatness amazes me and yet, you came down to me.  You sent your Son to save me, you sent the Holy Spirit to guide me, and Your word to challenge me to strive for the best that I can be.  You do it all in love.  You do it all for me.  I am thankful and in awe.

So today I say please be with me as I walk this world.  Help me, remind me, encourage me to respond to others not in kind but in love.  Your love and care for me flowing out to those around me.  Those I encounter who need help, a smile, a kind word or You.

I pray my life will show the best of who You are and how You would have me live in your ways in this world that is tainted with hate, bitterness, and shame and hurting lives . . .
